Client:  Leading Consumer Packaged Goods Company

Client Situation

After a lengthy negotiation process, our client acquired a $5B food company to accelerate long-term growth through expansion of its footprint in emerging markets and in higher-growth sectors.   The business imperative was to keep the business operating while seizing synergies and integrating end-to-end processes across all finance, supply chain and manufacturing plans in a tight timeframe.  This challenge was enhanced with the need to gain the cooperation of employees who had endured what had been called a hostile takeover and who stood a high probably of losing their jobs.  The acquired company had been running SAP 4.7 and our client was on SAP ECC 6.0.

The Solution

The AddVantage Group partnered with the IT and Finance organizations to provide a team of 15 seasoned SAP configuration consultants and management consultants with deep functional experience that would lead work stream within the Order-to-Cash, Source-to-Pay, Material-to-Inventory and Record-to-Report processes, as well as the Internal Controls team.   Our consultants supported development and execution of the integration plan:

  • Provided guidance in gap workshops, knowledge transfer sessions, onboarding and training sessions for client’s systems and processes
  • Identified gaps, opportunities and change management
  • Provided guidance in detail design reviews and assist in identification of opportunities and gaps
  • Developed and present end-to-end reviews and gain process owner alignment
  • Completed data cleansing
  • Designed and executed test scripts supporting end-to-end business processes, including unit testing, testing integration, security and month-end processes
  • Identified and resolve defects
  • Developed cutover plans
  • Identified, develop and execute appropriate training materials and training plan on new processes for key users
  • Supported hypercare and performed knowledge transfer with client team

Results

  • The system integration was completed successfully and on time
